Which is the best free email service provider? What are the advantages they have on the rest of the pack?

By

Which email is the best one out on the market? Is it hotmail, yahoo, or Gmail? That is a very good question. Well, each of them have their own personal usage and everyone has a preference. The only one I have not used would be Gmail and that's because of not really looking at getting another email account. That doesn't mean that it is bad but just something I'm not looking to get at this time. However I can tell you more about Hotmail and Yahoo since those ones I have used for many years.

With Hotmail, it's been with me for about seven years and counting. That's right, back when email space was a lot smaller than what you see at this very moment. At one point it was 1 MB but because of increased competition with Yahoo, they decided to upgrade it and eventually it became 5 GB of mail space along with up to 10 MB of attachments to be enclosed though I could never imagine transferring a file that large to send to someone else personally.

Yahoo is the second longest and that has been for about six years and was mainly used as a back-up just in case something happened to my Hotmail one and of course to try out a new service. I had used them mainly for the purpose of searching and that's it. Nothing else and that was limited and it was at 25 MB if my memory serves me right and eventually upgraded to unlimited. You can have as many messages as you want and you don't have to worry about losing any important mail.

Now Gmail I don't know much about honestly. This is going to be very difficult but what I do know is that Google created this in an attempt to become a major competitor and an alternative for those who do not want to use either or AOL for example.

The best one out there is the one that suits your needs the most. If you get massive amounts of emails a day, then maybe Yahoo is the one since you don't have to worry about a limit. It's a question that is really going to come down to a matter of personal preference and that's about it. I hope this answers the question because there's really nothing else that could be added to this.

Nice overview Bruce:)

My personal favorite is Gmail by far! It just has so many more features & benefits such as more storage space, easier filtering options, smoother navigation and convenience -- and more! I'd say yahoo comes in 2nd place for me followed by hotmail.
